60 second interview: Lewis Noble, 1st XI Batsman

Jon Kuhrt16 Apr 2020 - 14:21

ACC's 'shouldering arms' social media sensation bears his cricketing soul

'I am an absolute machine at gully...and I love a bit of chat'
- Lewis Noble

Name: Lewis Noble

Nickname: Lew Lew

Describe yourself as a player: I am a hard hitting (but cultured) top of the order batsman who loves an on-drive. And I am an absolute machine at gully. Also, I love a bit of chat, on and off the field!

Best cricketing memory: Scoring my first ton for the famous ACC. But also scoring a 50 at Lord’s for the club’s 150th anniversary match was also a bit of a highlight of mine. I definitely celebrated that one well!

Embarrassing moment: Well...I’ve had a few but I think every cricket fan in the world with internet access has seen my famous ‘Lewis Noble leaves one on off stump’ v Sanderstead in 2017. Currently standing at 70,000 views on Twitter alone and loads more on youtube.. That’s one I’m definitely not going to forget! Favourite cricketer:
It has to be the famous Antony Starnes. His elegance as he approaches the wicket and his devastating in-swinging yorkers is something to admire in a young cricketer. Also the way he destroys the Jagers makes him a true hero in my eyes.

Favourite format:
Test cricket. All day.

Most looking forward to in 2020: Actually trying to play some cricket this year would be great…so let’s aim at that!

ACC Online Quiz Night on 25th April on Zoom. All members and friends of the club welcome - the more the merrier!

If you want to watch 10 minute highlights of the rest of that match v Sanderstead in 2017 then we would highly recommend it as its a bit of a classic. ACC's Esmat Zadran scored 130 including an incredible 16 sixes and then bowled the final over with Sanderstead needing just 8 runs...see what happened...
